Fall

I'm posting the word FALL and changing my theme to FALL because I'm really really ready for FALL.  As in Autumn.  As in rain.  Crisp, cool air.  Apple Harvest.  FALL.

Sigh.

It's going to be 100 for days and days yet (or nearly so).

I love Livermore, usually, but it's in September when I question our choice of location.

In December, when there are 2 feet of snow on the ground the temp is 20 degrees below zero F in the state of my birth, I will remember why I am here.  (though, truthfully, it's mostly Tom's job)

I am hot in the air conditioning.  (It doesn't really work upstairs.)

Great.

Thanks.

That really helps.

:)

SRSLY, though, we've had a dry but mild summer, only over 100 about 2 times before now, which is very low for July, and rarely in the 90s to boot.

Oh, I'm sure you can all do the F to C conversion (thanks to the internet at least, but if my calculations are correct, we will have highs in the upper 30s to low 40s this week.)

At least it will be below 70 for sleeping.

I wish we could fit a whole house fan in our teeny atticky space.

It got up to 101 degrees F (38+ C)  today, but it's a glorious 75 right now.  The windows are open and I am feeling so happy I just had to share.  (Often when it gets that hot it never gets below 78 the whole night and we are stifling.)

Just had to share.

Can't believe I'm posting about the weather, but last year it was over 115 degrees farenheit at this time of year and this year we are enjoying weather that's 20 to 30 degrees cooler.  It's breezy and lovely today.  I rarely can have the windows open at 4 p.m. in July in Livermore!  How fun.  (We usually open the windows when the sun goes down and close them by 9 a.m. when it starts to get hot.  Not this summer.)

...well, actually, I like to complain.  So I will.

It is 78 degrees out today.  All week the weather has been sunny and clear and BEAUTIFUL.

This is not my complaint.

My complaint is that I've been stuck at home all week with a very sick child (104.1 fever on Tuesday only slowing coming down to 101.3 today--he's actually pretty chipper today.  Yeah!).  I have not been able to be out in that beautiful weather except to do a little yard work.

Yes, that was fine.  But really, I want to be hiking and biking and walking and playing.

Staying inside folding laundry, cleaning toilets and serving endless glasses of whatever beverage will tempt E is not exactly what the weather calls for.  (Neither is blogging, but it's much more fun than the former!)

Okay.  I feel better now that I've gotten that off my (thankfully uncongested as yet) chest.
