Things in my life have been too complex and serious and sad to post about.  I might someday.  I might not.  BUT, tonight I went to see Robin Hood, and i had to share with y'all.

When you start out a movie called "Robin Hood" by killing both King Richard and then ROBIN OF LOCKSLEY himself, you know it's going to be a long 2.5 hours.  I'm not one that thinks you can't take a varied and rather flexible, hidden in the mists of time story like Robin and make it your own.  But it seems to me that you'd want to retain SOME of the charm and character of the original.

Apparently not.

I am too tired to go into detail but let me say this:  when I saw Sherlock Holmes (esp the previews), I said, "Looks like a good movie, just not very much like Sherlock Holmes."  With this one I would say, "Not really a very good movie, and, oh, not very much like Robin Hood.  At all."

Nuff said.

2/5 stars.  Only gets 2 because Cate Blanchett is amazing as usual.
