Been cutting back on various commitments, per doctor's orders.

Haven't been sick for a whole 5 days.  :)  Let's hope I get a bit more of a run going, but I'll take 5 days at this point.  (Serial colds alternating with stomach flus almost continually since November.)

Tiny bit of pic spam )

Sorry for the ramble.  Told you it would be a little bit of everything.

;)

I forgot to post that T, the boys and I went to Lake Tahoe for the weekend.

So.

Sledding
Snowball fights
Snow Angel making
Snow Woman building (the other kids made the man, ours had a Caroline Bingley hat on!)
Skating (both boys going around alone the whole second half--it was only our second time too!)
Snow Hiking and
Skiing

I'd say we had an S-filled time!!!

Smashing.

Welcome to my flist, [personal profile] jcscot!

I figured since I have a new friend, I should post about something other than nausea. :)

My Adobe Illustrator class is going very well.  I am loving the pen tool exercises we've been doing.  Too fun.

I also got a contract for another job!!!  A multi-page brochure, so of course I need InDesign and not Illustrator.  Sigh.  Hopefully I'm up to the task.

If you read this whole thing, you are a gem.

My kids have no idea how lucky they are.   On this vacation to see both my sets of parents and almost all their cousins, they got to:

What a wonderful trip!  My family is so generous with love and stuff and food and their homes, etc. that I cannot get over it.  We visit every year, but this year seemed to be the nicest time yet.

We leave at 5 a.m. (well, we leave the house then to get to the airport in time to be super-searched), so I'll be offline most of tomorrow.
Wish me luck! (Or pray for me :)  )

Besides a few nights where E & A were up to late and fell apart (or one of the adults taking care of them did), our time in WI and IL has been going very well.  My DH is home getting the washer fixed (yay) and taking care of the dying hermit crab (boo) and enjoying the cleaned out garage (yay).

I've been having weird super-jet-lag where I don't feel like sleeping until midnight or later.  It's been a week, so perhaps it's just garden- variety insomnia.

I just realized today that I could chat when most Dwiggies do b/c I'm two hours earlier here, but I am also supposed to be spending time with family (loads)--so perhaps that will not happen even now.

I haven't written a word (except edits) while gone so my story is feeling very far removed right now.  It had been so immediate just prior to the trip (as you could probably tell!)

Guess that's all the blather...

Mom, Bill, E, A and I went to Yosemite for an abbreviated visit. It was exhausting and fun. LOTS of driving and riding on shuttles. Too much, really, but it's hard when you are trying to hit the high points in 52 hours.

Our room at the Yosemite View Lodge on rock-slide blocked 140 worked fine. It was a beautiful suite. My kids were quieter sleepers than I remembered, so sleeping in the same room as them wasn't bad. My mom makes no noise when she sleeps. Bill slept in the living room part of the suite, so his snoring was not an issue either (thanks, Bill!).

I'm off to try to write another segment of A Surfeit of Clerics.

I'm having trouble finding time to do my big training walk--and the Avon Walk is only 3 weeks (less!) away.

This week my distraction is Vacation Bible School. I'm teaching the interactive Bible lesson every day, and I need to memorize lines, rearrange the set and present the "show" 4 times/morning. E (7) and A (5 minus 5 days) are enjoying participating yet again. This is E's 5th or 6th year! Being a stay-at-home mom has its perqs and this week is definitely one of them--though it sometimes feels more like work than others.

Next weekend is A's 5th birthday party and then...

My mom and stepdad come to visit, her for 2 weeks, him for one. We are all (minus Tom) going up to Yosemite. My mom has never been, even though we make an annual trek (it's only 3.5 hours to the valley floor from our house).

Oh well, I'll walk on July 8-9 at the very least!
