You may wonder where this surge of reading has come from.  Well, my mom is here.  And she's a cleaner/organizer/play with the kids-er to such an extent that I always have way more time with her as a guest than I do without.

Book 31 was Dark Assassin by Anne Perry.  Late Victorian murder mystery against the backdrop of the time when London was being tunneled out for improved sewers, etc.  A William Monk novel (and I'm more a fan of Thomas and Charlotte Pitt) which blends detection and social justice.

Weird to read after a derivative work, but Perry is the superior writer.  However, I'm not sure this is the superior work...I'll give it the same.

3.5/5

I haven't raved too much about my new computer.  Probably because I had problems initially and that kind of took the bloom off the rose, so to speak.

I must pause, today, however and say:  WOh-huh-hOW!  (that's WOW, kinda stretched out).  It. Is. Amazing.  4 times more RAM and a faster processor makes all the difference in the world when you are running the kind of software I am.

:)

Meg

P.S. Spent the morning cleaning and as my reward I get to a.) go see A's egg drop and Easter party at school, and b.) go pick up my mom and stepdad from the airport.  The only thing missing from my day is any sense of the holiness and somber tone of Good Friday.  I wish our kids got it off, but I know there are not many people around here who observe it.  And here I am, a person who generally observes it, running around like a headless chicken.  Must. Slow. Down.
